Strength Training for Young Athletes
Instilling Confidence and Success in Athletes of All Ages and Experience by ensuring “Form and Function go hand in hand to prevent injuries” Start young to build a solid and strong foundation…
Why are we unique? Because we understand the athlete, the function of the human body and the importance of training it to achieve symmetry to avoid injury. Due to the nature of having a Private Training Studio we are able to Train athletes as young as 10, under supervision of one of our experienced personal trainers. Teaching them how to move, breathe, hold themself, and how their body works so that they can excel in their chosen sport by preventing injury and strengthening them for the specific needs of their passion…

The kinds of injuries we see the most in young athletes?
Ankle injuries – including sprains and growth plate fractures
Knee pain – which is frequently caused by runner’s knee (patellofemoral pain syndrome)
ACL tears – involving the anterior cruciate ligament, the stabilizing ligament of the knee
Back pain – did you know roughly 80% of the population suffer from this at some point in time
Broken bones – fractures, stress fractures to acute breaks
Shin splints – a common overuse injury (technically called medial tibial stress syndrome) that involves inflammation of the outer edge of the shin bone
Vertebral stress fractures – known as spondylolysis, a stress fracture of the backbone causing activity-related back pain
All of these in most cases can be avoided with proper training and injury prevention strengthening. This is why we assess all our young athletes before engaging in an exercise program.
FORM FITNESS COMPREHENSIVE POSTURAL ASSESSMENT
Why is this assessment important?
The human body requires every muscle to work in synergy with each other for it to function optimally and with as little stress on the joints, tendons, and ligaments as possible. As soon as one or more muscles become too tight or too weak an imbalance is created and eventually firing (neurological) patterns change to accommodate this. Unless the body is kept in balance the weaker muscles get weaker and the tighter muscles get tighter and eventually injury will result.
Muscle imbalances do not correct themselves without intervention!
